Eight Key Evidences That Vision
Has Caught On
The proof that God’s vision is being
followed and implemented is really
quite obvious—because the results
are dramatic. As we used to say,
“The proof is in the pudding.”
1. _____________________________ of the vision.
One proof of God’s presence in Nehemiah’s work was the full completion of
the wall.
“So the wall was finished on the twenty-fifth day of the month Elul, in fiftytwo days.” Nehemiah 6:15
Don’t stop halfway home! You don’t get any credit for runners left on base!
2. Obvious _____________________________ of God’s work.
The completion of the wall had an obvious and immediate effect on all who saw it.
“And when all our enemies heard of it, all the nations around us were afraid
and fell greatly in their own esteem, for they perceived that this work had
been accomplished with the help of our God.” Nehemiah 6:16
When a “God thing” starts happening in a church, even the enemies of the
church know it is a “God thing.” It is that obvious.
3. Continued ___________________________ and ______________________________.
“…you and the Jews intend to rebel; that is why you are building the wall. And
according to these reports you wish to become their king.” Nehemiah 6:6b
“And I understood and saw that God had not sent him, but he had
pronounced the prophecy against me because Tobiah and Sanballat had
hired him. 13 For this purpose he was hired, that I should be afraid and act in
this way and sin, and so they could give me a bad name in order to taunt me.”
Nehemiah 6:12
The only person with no opposition is the person who is doing nothing worth
opposing. The most blessed ministries in any arena are also the most criticized.
4. ___________________________ of new leaders.
After Nehemiah built the wall, new leaders stepped forward.
“Now when the wall had been built and I had set up the doors, and the
gatekeepers, the singers, and the Levites had been appointed,...” Nehemiah
What God _______________________, God ____________________________.
If you build it, they will come. If you build vision,
God will send you the leaders you need to accomplish that vision.
5. Major ___________________________ by the people.
After Nehemiah built the wall, new leaders stepped forward.
“Then all Judah brought the tithe of the grain, wine, and oil into the
storehouses.” Nehemiah 13:12
What people give to:
• People will give to __________________________________ first, when it is
clearly defined.
• People will give to _________________________________ when it is well
• People will give to ________________________________, rarely, if at all.
6. Renewed commitment to ___________________________ and to
“And they told Ezra the scribe to bring the Book of the Law of Moses that the
Lord had commanded Israel…. And he read from it facing the square before
the Water Gate from early morning until midday.” Nehemiah 8:1b, 3a
“Day after day…Ezra read from the book of the law.” Nehemiah 8:18a
Vision produces a commitment.
7. ___________________________ _____________________ joining in.
“Now the leaders of the people lived in Jerusalem. And the rest of the
people cast lots to bring one out of ten to live in Jerusalem the holy city, while
nine out of ten[a] remained in the other towns.” Nehemiah 11:1
Vision always attracts other people.
Because people are drawn to people who are passionate about what they
are doing, and who know where they are going.
8. ___________________________ to further change.
Cutting edge churches are always in change mode. They have created
such a climate of change that they have shifted the issue:
• From “can we _____________________________ this transition?”
• To “which change do we need to make _____________________?”
Wrap Up
Key Truth #11: Give __________________ all the ____________________ and
______________________for what has taken place.
Nothing shuts down the work of God like us taking credit.
__________________________________ and _______________________ cannot co-exist
in the same church leader or in the same church.
When we take credit, God takes His hand off what He has been blessing.
“He must increase, but I must decrease.” John 3:30 (KJV)

It is amazing what God can do when we don’t care who gets the credit.
